Agile Project Management's LifeCycle Includes five phases:
- Envision - ascertaining the product vision, assigning accountability for who will be doing what, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and laying the foundation in how the team will work together.
- Speculate - discerning the feature-based release, milestone, and iterative plan.
- Iteratively deliver features - deliver the tested features in quick turnaround timeframes
- Monitor and Adapt - review the deliverables, the current business environment, and the team's performance - and make changes as necessary
- Close - conclude the project, resolve any outstanding items, and reward the team.
Agile Project Management excels in three main situations:
- Projects which are exploratory in nature
- Project which need to have a high degree of customer collaboration
- Projects which have teams which are highly innovative
For healthcare project manager, Agile is ideal as a mechanism to get the system adopted in the daily life of our clinical colleagues. After the initial big bang of the implementation, an agile methodology can be utilized for clinical rule deployment. The goal is to make certain the rules augment clinical decision support by following the CDS 5 rights model in a quick manner. All of the principles of agile project management are present in the continuing enhancement of the system driving implementation. We are focused upon the practicioners needs and pain points, constructing rules to fulfill needs and remove pain points. This methodology which is explorative and adaptable is a great fit for enhancing your clinical system.
