A Primary Rate Interface is an ISDN version of a T-1 Trunk which connects directly to the telephone company's central office. The primary rate interface consists of 23 B-Channels and one 64Kpbs D-channel when using a T-1 Line. The D-channel commonly utilizes the Q.931 protocol. T-1 lines can have up to 1.544 Mpbs.
