Black Belts are individuals who have expertise in statistics and change management, confidently handling the statistical tools used in Six Sigma while leading other team members to assure successful results.

Master Black Belts are experts in Six Sigma statistical tools. In addition they coach and mentor several Black Belts. In an organization, there are few MBBs but they are a vital input to maintain the Six Sigma programs momentum, keep costs low, and maintaining the focus on the customer through the implementation.

Green Belts have some Six Sigma training but are generally members of the six sigma team. They still maintain their other duties.

Champions establish roles and the composition of the Six Sigma implementation. Champions establish roles, select projects, assign resources, and review progress. They are also know to provide assistance, quantify efforts, share best practices and apply lessons learned.
