Obviously these five are interrelated. Computerized Physician Order Entry must be convenient for physicians. The most convenient way for that to occur is through either a hand held or tablet. In order to be able to do that the infrastructure of the hospital has to be updated for wireless networking and that includes network development. Then one has need convenience of doing things from home, the office, and other locations. Enter in the investment in privacy and security (remember HIPAA). Finally it won't do any good to have orders that stay within one system. There comes the interfacing and integration component. The five are apart of the sum to get to an electronic healthcare record.
